||Jabber is a multiplatform communications medium. Much like ICQ, MSN, and AIM messengers, it can be used to communicate with other people on WaFreeNet. The server we run at WaFreeNet also support SSL and PGP encryption, just in case you want to have a truly private conversation as a group or one-on-one. While the server supports SSL and PGP, you will need to find a client for your platform that can do such encryption if that is what you like. A good place to start is http://www.jabber.org . I must take my hat off to the JAJC (which stands for 'Just Another Jabber Client'). This windows based Jabber client is the most fully featured of all the Jabber clients and has some lovely features of it's own. Download it and send a donation to the kind folk in Russia who have spent countless hours improving this excellent client for you. The current version of JAJC can be downloaded here . Jabber can also be used as a transport for other common messengers. The WaFreeNet Jabber server is also running transports for ICQ, AIM, Yahoo and Microsoft Messenger, so you can IM people outside of WaFreeNet with the same communcations software (if the Jabber client you choose supports it). To connect to the Jabber server you will need a client. Download one and then connect to the WaFreeNet Jabber server at ; server address: citrusnet.wafreenet.org When wireless connection present: Override server - 10.60.4.5 non SSL port: 5222
