Why Committees are important:

Sub-committees give new members a chance to experience management without the burden of it. In other words, it provides an avenue for new members to learn the ropes and the ins-and-outs of the organisation. This is particulary important when it comes to the treasurer, who needs in the first instance support from a committee, and secondly an avenue to train potential future treasurers. Sub-committees will ease the change-over between years and allow older committee members a chance to step down after passing on their knowledge.

Network Manager (and Committee):

Mission:

The Network manager and his committee is responsible for expanding and maintaining the network and should work diligently towards that goal.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the WAFN network's equipment and documentation, including routing;
  • Allocate IPs;
  • Assist members in gaining access to the network;
  • Liaise with the secretariat in identifying potential new sites.
